WeWork will make you think that you'll only have flexibility in a coworking center and that you'll be stuck in a traditional office space as your company's needs change. While the shared amenities of a WeWork space are nice, real workspaces are overcrowded fish tanks that limit employee productivity and keep them more concerned about cozy corners and community space.
The most attractive thing about WeWork is that the coworking giant offers an office space solution where a member can commit to a lease term of just one month, write a check and have access to a private space that's already furnished and equipped for IT. In a traditional office space, most landlords house businesses and move them to different office spaces with similar finishes within the portfolio, at a minimum or free cost, just like WeWork. Large companies, such as American Express, Business Insider and Merck, also use WeWork and rent private offices for up to 100 employees. It's not until a company moves to WeWork that they realize that they are being put in a glass box as if they were sardines and that they pay 35% more than a traditional office rent, for a 50% less space.
